Simple Pleasures: Maybelline Baby Lips

Over-tweezed brows. Dark lip liner. Unblended foundation at the neckline.  All could sufficiently haunt a house. But, there are few beauty crimes more offensive than applying lipstick to jagged, rough, chapped lips. But, thanks to Maybelline’s Baby Lips – we can have the baby soft lips that we were born with all over again.

There are so many great things about these new little tubes of joy that The Beauty Bug doesn’t even know where to begin.   The bright pop-art inspired colors, the price, the scents/flavors, the formulas, the high SPF protection, the sheer pop of color that’s just enough to be noticeable and flirty…there’s really not another product on the market like them. The vitamin-packed formulas are uber-smooth, silky and not at all waxy.  Plain and simple – they are addictive.

The scents are so delicious that The Beauty Bug finds herself constantly puckering her lips all throughout the day to smell them. It’s hard to choose a favorite, but She has been reaching for the Cherry Me (a cherry Blow Pop in the form of a balm) and Peach Kiss (less peachy, more nude) the most. Quenched and Peppermint, the two clear balms in the bunch, smell fresh and light. Grape Vine and Pink Punch are playful and can be used as base to your favorite lipstick, or provide a sheer wash of color on their own.

Maybelline’s Baby Lips are available at drugstores now for $3.99.
