Right this very second, I’m particularly grateful for the Fresh Sake candle burning on my side table. It injects the air with luscious sweetness that’s not syrupy or artificial. It’s like freshly ripened peaches at the apex of summer. The flame’s soft glow is like instant mood lighting, which makes me feel ultra cute as I sit next to my hubby wearing a robe and zit cream. (So un-sexy!) If I had it my way, I’d carry one of these with me everywhere.” – Polly Blitzer, Editor-in-Chief, BeautyBlitz.com.

“When it comes to skincare, I’m thankful for Ole Henriksen’s Herbal Day Crème SPF 15. Now that the weather is getting colder, my skin is crying out for extra moisture, and this cream strikes the perfect balance between being very hydrating yet friendly to my oily-to-combo complexion.

When it comes to makeup, I’m thankful for Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Passion. A swipe of this editor favorite instantly makes my lips look slightly rosy while conditioning them at the same time. It’s my quick fix for when I’m looking blah.

When it comes to nails, I’m thankful for Chanel nail polish in Paradoxal. It’s not a brand new shade, but whenever I wear this plum-gray polish, I always get multiple compliments on it! (Plus, I’m REALLY feeling purple hues for fall/winter…)

When it comes to body products, I’m thankful for Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash. This body wash seriously lives up to its name! I feel so relaxed and happy when I use it because it fills up the shower with the smell of ylang ylang, chamomile, and lavender. ” – From Jane Shin Park, Teen Vogue’s Beauty & Health Editor

“At Thanksgiving it has begun to be freezing, so I am more thankful for hot baths than ever– I love practically every bath oil on earth, but the Calming one from This Works is truly, unbelievably effective at inducing sleep.

I need more face oil–the anti-aging serum from Intelligent Nutrients–than ever, to moisturize and to revive my skin/makeup/attitude.

If I had to go without Lancome Flash Bronzer for Legs (I use on face & body), I would look about 1,000 times more exhausted & ancient.

The grapefruit-vanilla scent (the oil in the rollerball) from LaVanilla is so good that I also love the deodorant and the shower gel!” - Jean Godfrey June, Beauty Director, Lucky Magazine

The Beauty Bug checked in with some of the top editors and experts to see what products they were most looking forward to this year. Here’s what they are gushing about:

“There are so many incredible beauty innovations on tap for 2011, it’s going to be a gorgeous year! I’m especially excited for Crest’s new 2-Hour Express Whitestrips. Can you imagine — a sparkling smile in just one 2 hour session? I usually use regular Whitestrips for maintenance, applying one every month or so, but with the new 2-Hour technology, I’ll be good for a year! I’m also thrilled about John Frieda’s 3-Day Straight Potion, which helps hair retain the shape you style via heat. I prefer a sexy, wavy style, which I lock in using a curling iron after applying 3-Day Straight — I wake up with “done” hair for up to a week! Amazing. For makeup, I’m psyched for two new launches. First, I’m obsessed with Shiseido’s Refining Makeup. It’s a foundation that creates the look of perfect skin. You only need to use a tiny bit to even out skin tone and the texture is a perfect satin, you don’t need to use powder ever. Also loving Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks – which feel like a heavenly lip balm going on but deliver gorgeous pigment in cool shades like sheer tomato red and shimmering plum. Plus, they have adorable names inspired by the life of young Coco Chanel and of course come in the chicest tube. ” -Gwen Flamberg, Beauty Director, US Weekly

–

“John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray - This mist lightens your hair with just a low level of peroxide–it’s kind of like a technologically advanced version of putting lemon juice on your hair in the summer. I plan on using it on my ends to keep them lighter than the rest of my hair.

Yves Saint Laurent Cream Blushes in 5 and 6: I love cream blushes because they create the most natural-looking flush. And these sheer bubblegum-pink and red blushes are amazingly gorgeous. They give your cheeks a pop of color that’s not clownish. Plus, they feel so silky going on. ” -Amy Keller Laird, Deputy Editor/Beauty Director, Allure

–

“There are so many great products to get excited about in 2011! I’m loving Physicians Formula’s Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner Serum. It’s a liquid liner and serum that promotes longer looking lashes and stays put all day long – plus it comes in great shades. I’m also obsessed with OPI’s Black Shatter Coat. You can apply it over any nail polish to create the coolest leopard-like pattern. It’s instant nail art! A hot at-home hair color trend? Foam! L’Oréal Paris’s Sublime Mousse by Healthy Look is great. The mousse-like texture makes for easy, no-mess application and an even (and gorgeous!) result. ” -Holly Carter, Beauty Director, People StyleWatch

–

“The one thing I’m excited to see launch is the new Calypso St. Barth line for Target. A few years ago, we saw the emergence of masstige – which was a category of pricey drugstore products attempting to be luxe. But capsule collections at affordable prices are such a smarter way to go. I remember splurging on my first Calypso Mimosa candle…and then splurging further on a trip to St. Barths, where I stocked up on fragrance, candles and caftans from the brand. I am counting the milliseconds until the collection launches – and I’ll fill my cart with as many as I can fit – without credit card remorse.” – Polly Blitzer, Editor-in-Chief, BeautyBlitz.com (editor’s note: Calypso St Barth for Target hits stores on May 1)

–

“The product I am MOST excited for in 2011 is Stila’s new All Over Shimmer Duo in Kitten- the finish is amazing and glowy, it works as all-over highlighter or with a wet brush it makes an amazing shadow in a pinch (such as when my beloved Kitten shadow inevitably runs out on me and I end up in a panic because I can’t leave the house without it!)” -Jenn Falik, Beauty & Style Expert

Because of the severity of Scarlett’s makeup, The Beauty Bug’s eye is drawn to her and Natalie is barely noticed. Natalie’s flawless neutral look, which can be achieved with MAC’s N Collection, features perfect skin and a smoky eye. Scarlett’s vampy look is foreboding, extremely uninviting and cold. Bottom line, it’s just not working – even for this goth themed cover.

A Perezhilton reader commented by saying, ““Might as well face it we’re addicted to love” gone bad.” Not a bad assessment.

What do you think?
