Don’t even be tempted to apply a light dusting because you’ll just sweat it off. Not even for touch-ups! But… trust The Beauty Bug when She tells you that once you try The SPF 18 Fluid Tint by La Mer, you’ll forget about powder all together.

The Beauty Bug best describes the glow that you get from using this product as something She likes to call “I just walked off the set of magazine shoot in South Beach ON the beach.” You know what She means – that healthy, sun-kissed sheen that’s synonymous with summer. It’s just perfectly dewy and smooth.

The formula is a combination of La Mer’s famous moisturizing Crème de la Mer with sunscreen and a subtle tint. Available in three natural shades – light, medium, and dark – the tint is very lightweight, yet provides nice coverage. The unique radiant finish that makes this product a stand-out one results from the light-reflecting tourmaline (a crystal mineral) and Brazilian Malachite.

The Beauty Bug pairs The Tint with MAC’s Spaced Out Sheertone Shimmer Blush – it gives Her face that perfect amount of color without looking artificially tan or bronzed.

The final word – this tinted moisturizer borders on perfection. The Beauty Bug says borders because The SPF Fluid Tint retails for $65. Yes, it’s a splurge, but one that’s well worth it. The Beauty Bug plans to repurchase The Tint once Her stash is depleted – $65 isn’t going to stop Her from that fresh, natural glow.

The SPF 18 Fluid Tint 1.7oz is available at select Saks Fifth Avenue stores, Neiman Marcus stores, Bergdorf Goodman stores, and at www.lamer.com.

SPF 18 Fluid Tint not in your budget? The Beauty Bug recommends Jane Iredale Dream Tint SPF 15 that retails for $36.

No, it’s a mask!

Moisturizer!

Mask!

It’s both!

Clinique’s new Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is truly a one-stop-shopping product; a jack of all trades. This new super-product is The Beauty Bug’s new go-to moisturizer. It can be used as a daily moisturizer, it can be applied over another moisturizer, it can be used throughout the day as a refresher, or finally, a thick layer can be applied for a 5-minute facial mask. Parched skin, beware!

For those that are old fans of this, you’ll know what The Beauty Bug is referring to when she gushes about the amazingly lightweight cream-gel silky texture that glides on skin like butter. It’s the same addictive moisturizer, but the formula has been updated – it now maintains moisture levels in skin for a full 12 hours.

With the change in seasons and climates upon us, The Beauty Bug has been experiencing some funny dry patches of skin on Her face – Her skin’s moisture balance is way out of whack. After about a week of using Moisture Surge, The Beauty Bug’s skin was back in action and fully restored and ready to take on whatever Mother Nature throws at Her.

A couple more things you should know about the product – The Beauty Bug told you that it was lightweight – and because of the unique texture and consistency, it absorbs remarkably quickly. The Beauty Bug will apply the moisturizer and then brush Her teeth – by the time Her head hits the pillow, it has completely absorbed into Her skin.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief doesn’t make any promises that it can’t keep, which nowadays, is refreshing. It’s a moisturizer that performs.

Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is available for $32 on Clinique.com and at Clinique counters everywhere.

Recently, I came across a few posts about Skinsational products and became intrigued, so I visited their site and began to familiarize myself with their products and philosophy. Unfortunately, I’m on the east coast, and Skinsational Spa is on the west coast, so I wasn’t able to take part in the whole Skinsational experience, however, I was able to try some of the signature products from the Skinsational line.

As I just mentioned in my previous post, The Beauty Bug is currently in Florida so she purposely saved the Grapefruit Foaming Face Wash for her vacation because while here, she eats grapefruits every morning for breakfast. At first look, the Beauty Bug liked these samples more than most other samples that she has received because there were instructions on how to use the product on the sample. It’s most inconvenient when you receive a sample (especially if the product is a mask or cream),and you have to spend time searching for instructions. Now, on to the actual trial. While the cleanser has a faint citrus smell, not grapefruit, it’s probably one of the more gentler, milder cleansers that Beauty Bug has ever used. The Beauty Bug has used it for 2 straight days now, and after each use she’s left with soft, calm skin. This is one of those cleaners that’s good for anyone, it’s just so delicate and smooth.

The Azulene Moisture Creme was just as pleasant. It’s weightless, absorbs very quickly and a little goes a long way. It has a stronger scent than the face wash, – a cleaner, fresher scent that the Beauty Bug liked immediately. And in case you’re wondering, Azulene comes from the Spanish word for Blue (azul) and is an organic compound commonly used in cosmetics. Any other questions – check with the ladies over at The Beauty Brains.

In the past 10 years the only item that I’ve purchased from Clinique is their Turnaround 15 Minute Facial. I bought it after reading about it in Allure. They just aren’t and never really were on my makeup and skin care radar. For some reason, I associate them and their products with older women – just not having the “in” colors and not updating their makeup product lines often. While this older crowd may be their core customer, I think they should focus some of their marketing efforts to the 20-something crowd. I think it’d prove to be beneficial.

Anyways, why all this Clinique talk? I went to their counter at the local mall on my lunch hour today to try a sample of their 3-step skin care system. I had heard about it on the radio and was curious. Unfortunately, they were all out, and the sales girl said that most Macy’s in the area were out too. Why didn’t they pull all the radio advertising? That irked me. Anyways, I was over at the counter so I took the opportunity to look around. The Pink Chocolate collection was extremely nice (in store in November) – Erika from the Makeup Bag breaks it down for us here. I want the Shimmering Tones powder. The Spicy Eye Shadow quad also caught my eye (the picture really doesn’t do it justice) – the sales girl was wearing is and I asked her show it to me. It reminded me a lot of the LORAC Snake Charmer palette (minus the blush), but was $25 instead of $35 – I was expecting it to be more. I also got a sample of the Superdefense Moisturizer, which I like. It’s heavy, but it’s the kind of thing where I know I’ll wake up in morning with soft moisturizes skin.

I was browsing in a few TJ’s around me and found that they now have a lot of BLISS products. I picked up the Lemon + sage silky milk super smoothing body lotion for $12.99 and their new No-Motion lotion – anti-wrinkle topical face solution -for$19.99. Although they may be discontinued, they are good as new. They also had some products plum scented products as well. So, don’t say I never told you!

This past May my boyfriend, Joel, I took a vacation to Iceland and Sweden. We went horsbeackriding through the Iceland countryside, saw all the natural wonders, and bathed at the Blue Lagoon (Ladies, get there if you can, it’s worth the 4 hour plane ride) while enjoying a white silica mud mask. I’m not sure if it was just the amazing time we had, or the relaxation and natural beauty that you experience when you’re there, but since going, I have a soft spot in my heart for all things Icelandic. Iceland beauty means natural wellness, natural geothermal active ingredients, silica and algea.

With all that being said, you can imagine how excited I was when I heard about the new skin care line that Sephora was starting to carry, Skyn Iceland. I’ve been eyeing it for quite some time now, but it’s quite pricey, and I’ve promised myself that I’m going to use up most of the eye creams, moistureizers and peels that I have before I allow myself to buy more. So far, I’ve kept my promise, but last night while in Sephora I was super close to buying their new Detox Kit for Stressed Skin. I asked the skin care specialist what she thought of the line, and she said that since it was so new she hadn’t had much time to use it or familiarize herself with it. Instead of buying the Detox Kit (which I will have sooner or later) I asked for a sample of the Oxygen Infusion Night Cream. I’m going to try it tonight, but I hope she gave me enough for one use (from the looks of the sample, it’s doubtful) – she was being very stingy! Review coming soon!

So, Iceland for the win! I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.
